Continuous Labelling

The most common practice of creating and printing consignments is to do so after the pick process has been completed. Then all labels are printed at the same time and the consignment is prepared and locked. To change anything on the consignment, it has to be reopened.

In some scenarios, it's necessary to be able to create packages, have them linked to the consignment as items are picked, and put labels on the packages one by one. We call this scenario "continuous labelling". To support this scenario it must be possible to add packages to a consignment that has already been prepared, and only the label for the added package should be printed. For each package that is added, the consignment needs to be prepared by Logtrade to get the label printed.

Note

It is not possible to combine continous labelling in BC with consolidation in Logtrade

Settings

  • Set Reconfirm Status on the shipping agent service to be used for continuous labelling. This will allow adding packages to a prepared consignment.
  • Turn of Automatic Printing in the delivery setup. Otherwise all labels will be printed every time the consignment is prepared.
  • Set label printing to Manual for all carriers in the Logtrade.
