Printing
Printing of labels and documents are done by Logtrade Integrated Printer, initiated by a request to the Logtrade API from Business Central. The only exception from that rule are internal package labels which are printed by Business Central. Regardless if Business Central is running in cloud or on premises, the Logtrade Integrated printer needs to be installed where it can access the printers as windows print queues.
Prerequisites
To install Logtrade Integrated Printer you need the following:
- A Logtrade license number, username and password.
- A print queue in Logtrade. Normally there's at least a print queue called "Standard".
- A computer with access to Internet and the printer via windows a print queue. The printer can be locally attached or a network printer.
Note
It makes no difference if you ar running Business Central on cloud or on-premises. Business Central only talks to Logtrade through Logtrades API, and Logtrade will create print jobs in it's print queues, which Logtrade Integrated Printer monitors to execute print jobs. So even if you are using Business Central on cloud, you must install Logtrade Integrated Printer on a computer in, or with access to, your network or with a direct connection to the printer(s).
Note
Logtrade Integrated Printer is installed as a windows service. All settings are stored on the windows profile of the user account running the service. Therefore both setup and configuration must be done using that user context, either by logging in to the computer as that user or using the "Run As" functionality in Windows.

Notes and tips
- You can specify a default print queue in the delivery setup, on locations and on Logtrade Users.
- If you want to send consignments to Logtrade and you do not want to print even though Logtrade is setup to automatically print when preparing, you can use a print queue that you do not monitor with Logtrade Integrated Printer.
- If you want to see labels and documents as pdf's while testing you can:
- Set printing to manual on carriers in Logtrade and have integrated printing disabled in the delivery setup in Business Central. This will open up pdf's on you computer based on pdf links received by Logtrade when preparing a consignment. This requires the PDF functionality in the Logtrade License.
- Setup a pdf printer on your computer that can automatically create and show pdf's. Then setup Logtrade Integrated Printer to use that printer.
- If you want to print carrier labels as you pick items and crete packages (i.e. not all labels at the end of your pick process), you can use continuos labelling.
