Services

When creating a consignment you can add additional services such as delivery notifications, heat transport etc. Click here to read the walkthrough document about additional services.

By defining carrier generic service codes in Business Central, with relations to actual carrier specific services, you can use service codes in setup and rules and have the actual carrier services implemented on a consignment when the shipping agent service is known and the correct carrier specific service can be chosen.

The services in the list below are created when Logtrade Connect is initialized. These services have relations to carrier generic services in Logtrade that can be used for all carriers.

Field name Description
Code Specifies the code used in Business Central. This code is not known by, or transferred to, Logtrade.
Description Specifies the description of the service.
Validation Specifies what will happen if the service, based on defined rules, should be applied to a consignment but cannot, due to missing relation to a valid carrier product service that can be used for the selected shipping agent service on the consignment. Valid options are:
-[blank]
-User Confirmation (the user can confirm to send the consignment)
-Mandatory (the user will not be able to send the consignment)

Relations

The service code only exists in Business Central. When used on a consignment it is translated to a carrier specific service. The example below shows a manually added service with relations to two services for DHL.

The service code DHL ADVICE in the example above can only be used for DhlPaket and DhlPall, since those are the only carrier specific services with relations to the service code DHL ADVICE.
